As a photographer, I am all about "capturing the moment” where life is vibrant and precious, provocative and striking, raw and truthful.   All too often these moments pass without notice to be lost in our fast paced lives. Much like journaling, meditation and prayer a moment captured in a photograph can be a powerful visual way to ground us; reminding us of what is important in our lives, true in our hearts and of the most value to our well being and happiness.

In my coaching and facilitating, I focus on holistic healing of mind, body and spirit. Along with “talk-therapy” I successfully work with writing, visualization, meditation, and prayer as tools for developing self-awareness and healing practices. I strongly believe, only in a context free of unproductive thoughts and feelings, that true wellness can be achieved and maintained. Journaling is one of the best and most cost effective tools available to us.

As a citizen-at-large, I live in Northern Illinois with husband David and our two Newfoundland dogs. I am very involved at the grass roots levels of our community’s growth and well-being. I serve on the board of a local Friends of the Park District Foundation and as a founding member and President of the Avon Township Community Foundation focused on ensuring funds and operational oversight for goods and services needed in our community. I am also an election judge and 1st Vice Chair of a political organization in Illinois’ Eighth Congressional District.

Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from,
everything we deny, denigrate or despise,
serves to defeat us in the end.

What seems nasty, painful, evil
can become a source of beauty, joy and strength
if faced with an open mind and heart.

Wendy M. Warden

author, photographer, coach and facilitator

As an author, I have just co-published my first book Deep, Deeper, Deeper Still.   This book is a guided journal designed to unleash your ability to connect with your true north, increase personal and professional prosperity as well as your personal style and creativity.   We use both written and visual prompts to unlock your journaling prowess.

The book, which was published in partnership with Jerilyn Willin, is a long-term goal of mine to promote journaling to as many people as possible as a tool for creating a more mindful, successful and joyful life.
